Parents and Grandparents Program re-opens this fall
IRCC will accept new interest to sponsor submissions for the Parents and Grandparents Program, giving Canadian citizens and permanent residents another chance to reunite with their families.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has confirmed that the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) will re-open for new sponsorship interest this fall. Sponsors must meet income requirements for the relevant tax years and be able to demonstrate that they can support the sponsored family members.
Because demand far exceeds the number of available spaces, IRCC uses an invitation-based process. Submitting an interest to sponsor form does not guarantee an invitation, so it is important to keep documentation ready in case you are selected.
If you are considering sponsoring your parents or grandparents, we recommend reviewing your income history, your family size calculation, and your supporting documents well before the window opens.
